A SHORT BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Milwaukee, WI in April 1963, but my family moved back
to East Millstone, NJ (near Brunswick) before I turned one.
I graduated from Rutgers University in 1985 with a B.A. in Biochemistry.
I have master's degrees from the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University and
earned my Ph.D. in Ecology at Kent State University.
I am an Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Science at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN
where I have taught since 1992. My research interests include studying the ecology and biogeography of
amphibians (frogs, salamanders, etc.) in northern and central Indiana. Much more information,
including my C.V.,
is contained on my Saint Joe faculty page, which is linked below.
I'm married to Cheryl Wistrom
and together we have the most lovely daughter, Nyssa,
who was born May 9, 1998. Nyssa is very photogenic!
Click on the "Family" hyperlink below for a page of her pictures.
Cheryl also teaches at Saint Joseph's College,
where she is an associate professor of Chemistry. We are the happy caretakers of six dogs,
photos of whom are now appearing on the "Nyssa and the dogs" page hyperlinked below.
